On Sunday 6th February, Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth. What better way to celebrate this momentous occasion here at MakeBox than to launch our very first Royal Collection of craft boxes.
Queen Elizabeth's Coronation
We are thrilled to share the news with you that we have been exclusively selected by the Royal Collection Trust to have our craft boxes sold in Royal Residencies such as Buckingham Palace (Yes - THE actual Buckingham Palace!), Windsor Castle and The Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh. This was such a lovely and unexpected start to 2022 and as a team we feel so excited to be given this fantastic opportunity to show off a brand new collection of MakeBoxes in some absolutely stunning locations. I mean, what is a more amazing location than a Royal palace.

As we are the first Craft Box Company to be showcased in the Royal Palaces, Hannah wanted to pull all the stops out to create the most stunning and royal-worthy collection possible - and my gosh did she succeed in doing this!
The first embroidery in the collection is this absolutely stunning Ditsy Floral Union Jack Embroidery which is bursting with roses, buds and daisies made up of textural floral stitches giving such a wonderful 3D effect. Of course there are also some forget-me-knots represented by the small blue dots in the background of the flag; as we couldn’t create a Royal embroidery without showcasing what is said to be Queen Elizabeth’s favourite flower!
The second project in this collection is the Corgi Embroidery for all you dog lovers out there! We absolutely had to include this special furry friend in one of the designs as the Queen’s corgis are almost as famous as the monarch herself. Queen Elizabeth just adores Pembroke Welsh Corgis and it has been said that she has had over 30 in her lifetime. She first fell in love with this gorgeous breed when her father King George VI brought home a corgi in 1933. On the Queen’s 18th birthday in 1944 she was gifted a corgi that she could call her own whom she named Susan; she currently has 3 dogs now which seems a little bit more manageable.
The Corgi Embroidery features a gorgeous pup sitting dutifully surrounded by blooming flowers like red roses and pink cosmos often seen in the Royal Palaces where the Queen’s corgis have their daily walks. In this box you will learn so many wonderful embroidery techniques such as french knots, satin stitches and running stitches as well as how to make 3D roses.
If you thought we had finished there, we definitely have not, we have one more gorgeous embroidery box up our sleeves and that is the stunning Crown Embroidery. This design focuses on the iconic Imperial State Crown which is one of the crown jewels that represents sovereignty of the monarch. This glorious piece of headwear consists of a whopping  2,868 diamonds, 273 pearls, 17 sapphires, 11 emeralds, and 5 rubies. You’ll notice that we have depicted the crown sitting upon a hairstyle worn by Queen Victoria and surrounded by flowers that would have decorated the Royal Gardens. The colours in this box are so vivid and would look gorgeous adorning any wall or mantlepiece, go on… treat yourself to a Royal delight like this embroidery box!
The fourth and final box in the Royal Collection is the Royal Bunny, a fabulously hand stitched bunny doll that would be a gorgeous addition to a doll collection or make the perfect gift for a loved one. This design is quintessentially British, with the Bunny’s postbox red pair of bloomers and a candy pin striped coat with a matching red lapel. You can’t help but smile at how cute this bunny is, especially with it’s sparkly crown made from gold glitter felt, and of course we didn’t forget to include another… you guessed it… forget-me-knot which is used as a button upon the bunny’s jacket. This bunny also comes with a naming certificate so you can think up your perfect Royal Bunny name. All the materials provided in our boxes are so luxurious and high end, truly fit for a Queen!
This collection is so special to all of us here at MakeBox as it is such a high achievement to be featured amongst so many high end brands and for a small business like us to be selected, we are truly proud and feel privileged to be able to make this collection happen.
