This beautiful design makes you want to curl up with a warm cup of hot chocolate and imagine sitting by the fireside in a sweet, thatched cottage.

The embroidery has a modern colour pallet combining dusky pink and turquoise. It uses a playful sense of perspective leading from the garden path where winter flowers such as White Hellebores and clusters of crocuses bloom. The snow is starting to fall in the field behind the frozen lake, giving further perspective to this darling piece.

You will work with stitches from Satin Stitch to French Knots in this raised embroidery. Suitable for beginners upwards.

Such a fun Embroidery!

I've thoroughly enjoyed stitching this. I've done needlework over the years but have recently taken it up again and I'm delighted with the almost finished result. For beginners or those returning to the hobby, it's very straightforward to do and it ' grows' quickly which gives encouragement as it's not all tiny fiddly stitches. That there's French Knots in the design adds variety so you can build on your stitch repertoire but without too many to make things frustrating. Keep it neat as you work and observe the pattern lines carefully and you'll have a mini masterpiece to be proud of. Tip- a head torch can be really useful when working on darker fabric.

I love my new embroidery kit

I love my new embroidery kit. I am new to embroidery but the kit has everything you need and clear instructions so hopefully I will be able to learn and recreate the beautiful stitching. The kit sent out to me unfortunately included the incorrect colour carbon paper, but MakeBox quickly sorted the error and sent me replacement paper and fabric so I could continue my project :-)
