This delicately stitched anatomical embroidery depicts a skeleton hand holding a pale blue poppy. The hand design uses fine black threads to create a sketched look, firstly outlining and then cross-hatching the embroidered drawing. The delicate blue poppy uses subtle colours to embroider this particularly poignant flower; once a poppy is picked, it wilts quickly but contains new seeds to regrow —a symbol of peace, sleep, death, and rebirth.
This design sits beautifully with the Floral Skull Embroidery. The two were designed to be a proportionally embroidered pair, perfectly matched to mount on the wall with the skull above and the hand to the right below.
This playful pair add a modern and sentimental touch to any wall.
